Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
Now Ron's assessing the game-playing ability of Match game panelists!
Re: Ron Cameron
Caller Larry's asking Ron about what he's heard on the James Harden trade rumor mill? Ron has no internet access & isn't going to any games (talking to all of his so-called sources). How would he have any insight not available to anyone else?!
Re: Ron Cameron
Larry's always good for countering Ron's constant 'Stafford's a HOFer.'
Re: Ron Cameron
The callers picked up, with Mark from Warren & Rob from Canton chiming in. So Ron only fell 2 short of his total of "7 callers" today.

Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks for the play by play. I wasn’t able to listen today but I’ll be listening tomorrow. Did he mention any future guests?
Re: Ron Cameron
No future guests mentioned, but he's sure going to try to line up someone for tomorrow.
He repeatedly mentioned eating at RH this morning, but, when called on that, hedged a couple of times about whether he ate inside. I'm imagining a raid in the midst of one of his sumptuous meals, with Ron being dragged out, but not before going back to abscond with another slice of bacon.

Re: Ron Cameron
Ron would probably say “do you know who I am?” to the cops. At this point, Rams Horn has to be feeling sorry for him and feeding him, they know they get no returns on whatever the ad costs
Re: Ron Cameron
If the Cobb story was true, Ron would be breaking that one out every single show.Momo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:01 pm Tiresome Kurt devotes his call to the 1921 Series, but nary a word on the passing of Phil Niekro, who I believe began his long career that year. And clueless Ron thinks that Bob Prince was the Pittsburgh broadcaster then! Does anyone believe Ron’s story that, as a teenager, he approached Ty Cobb and talked to him for 10 minutes?!
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron cannot catch a break. Yesterday, he debuted his latest schtick, devoting a good chunk of the first show of the 2021 season to his new-found opinion that the Pistons were likely to go winless in January. He even went so far as ("shall we?") examining each of the team’s scheduled games this month. Rich from NY would've been in heaven. Unfortunately for Ron, though, the Pistons won last night. There goes Ron's plan to milk this premise for as long as he could. Oh well, there's always the box scores & team statistics to endlessly pore over on-air.

Re: Ron Cameron
Don't worry, Ron still has the imaginary restaurant talk to give us that was supposed to happen many times in the last few years. He really needs to bring back the trivia, that seemed to bring his base to the phones.
Re: Ron Cameron
On the request line, Mr. Positive, please ask about Matt, Phil Niekro (it's been too long since Ron last told his Joe Niekro story) & whether Ron ever followed-up on his oft-stated intent to call the widow McCulloch to express his condolences.

He gave Alex 30 mins today, like Ron is doing Alex a H*** favor.
Re: Ron Cameron
I wonder where Ron was “working” last night that kept him from watching the start of the Pistons game last night.

Working for Ron is trying to shake down a business for a free meal. The weather was pretty bad yesterday as well and then we do have a pandemic going on but Ron is oblivious to everything.
