Some registered account users are experiencing password recognition issues. The issue appears to have been triggered by a PHP update last night. If this is occurring, please try logging in and using the "forgot password?" utility. Bear in mind auto-generated password reset emails may appear in your spam folder. If this does not work, please click the "Contact Us" option near the lower right hand corner of the index page to contact me via email.

Posting Photos

Unread post by Turkeytop »

Of late, some users have been telling me they can't see the photos I post. Just a little square with the word "image." If I post a link to the photo, they can open it up and view it.

But I could see them OK and other users have been saying they too can see the posted photos.

Now, tonight, I'm not seeing any of the photos I've ever posted on any thread. Just the square with the "image" word.

What has changed?

So, with the help of another user here, I've learned that my photos are invisible only to users of Chrome.

When using Firefox or Explorer, there isn't a problem.

Apparently not browser related as the image in your Keymic Mouse thread didn't display for me with Chrome, FF, Edge, and IE.

That's odd. I can see it in chrome, but if I try FF I can't.

I think I had this problem once before and MW said he had tightened up some settings. He tweaked something and it was OK again.

What you have posted in Chatterbox "Keymic Mouse" between the IMG brackets is NOT an image file. It's a link to a gmail item, and no amount of MW tweaking is going to show it.

OK. I get it. I'll fix that.

But there's still the issue that I can't see any of my posted images if I'm using the chrome browser. That's something new.

In Chrome's address bar, go to

chrome://settings/content/images - turn on Show All

then, if you're still not seeing the images, go to

chrome://settings/content/insecureContent

Add www.mibuzzboard.com to the 'Allow' list - at your own risk.

Tried all of that. It didn't work. Then, I also added the address of the site where my photos are stored. The site I link to when I post a photo. Now it works.

I thought I had it fixed. But now my photos are coming and going intermittently from minute to minute. :rolleyes

I'm the same way. Sometimes I see them. Sometimes it just says "image". I just wait until a time it shows it. Yours always show. Some people, TC Talk and audiophile are two that I can think of without going back and looking, will show 'image' more often than not.

(I opened this thread up because, no matter how hard I try, every avatar is "exceeds .... " and I can't upload my ugly mug. And I thought maybe that's what the thread was about).

Mike, you have to have your Avatar like under 119 x 119 and under 25kB, so use your photo editor to shrink it below the bit size and lessen the JPG quality if you need to get it down to 20kB.

Newer forum software makes it so you don't have to dick arund like that. Xenforo would be a great upgrade for this place, I don't get why MW is against it.
