Schitt's Creek
Re: Schitt's Creek
Of course, Schitt's Creek was available during its run to those of us on the border on CBC (CBET 9).
Re: Schitt's Creek
Didn't Schitt's make Milwaukee famous?

This is the first new show they've added in a couple of years. I've seen the first two episodes on CBC and It's pretty funny. Has anyone else out there seen this show? Do you think it's a good choice? (I've always really liked The Big Bang Theory but after nine years it's getting kind of stale.)
Why would we care about streaming internet here?

Even poor people enjoy Netflix over TV.tvbobn wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 6:08 pmSome of us like watching FREE TV instead of paying for it.Matt wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 11:57 amBecause who wouldn't want to watch commercials or watch when the network decides?tvbobn wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 11:40 amYou know this is the "Michigan Radio and TV Buzzboard", yes?Matt wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:15 amWe know Netflix and Hulu exist, yes?sfpcc wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 3:33 am Channel 50 is picking up the recently concluded Canadian Sitcom Schitt's Creek. Seriously, have you seen tv ads when the news isn't running? It should tell you a bit about the viewers.
For Kristian Trumpers are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

I have no subscription services.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Schitt's Creek
Schitt's Creek was kind of a sleeper that took a season or two to get noticed. It wasn't an immediate hit like This Is Us or Lost. Most CBC shows are kind of under the radar.

I checked CW 50's schedule and it doesn't list the show yet... is there a date for when it will begin airing?
I also thought that FOX picked up syndication rights to it, but Fox 2 isn't airing it either...

Schitt's Creek will start airing on 50 at 2:30 AM Tuesday Morning,(Monday night.) I guess it's on so late is because of the name.

Such a great show. Levy and O'Hara are such a great pairing. Adored them in Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.
Re: Schitt's Creek
I think it will win a Golden Globe Award come January of 2021 & someone will open the envelope & say "No shit, Schitt's Creek!!"

Everyone is allowed to dream big, even Network TV executives.Deleted User 15342 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 7:39 pm
You may be paying for it when ATSC 3.0 becomes reality. ATSC3.0 and the internet will work together in this new generation of television. The Networks want you to buy their product and NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox want to make money and be on an even playing field with internet, cable and satellite. So it could be bye-bye free television in the next 10 years.
There is a finite pool of money that people are willing to spend on TV, and now they'll get to compete for it with every other source out there. Good luck with that. I still have some contacts in the business, and the pie-in-the-sky ideas they're banking on to make money with ATSC 3.0 are just silly. Such as, pushing the auto industry to use ATSC 3.0 to do automotive systems and infotainment software updates.
Uh, TV Executive, ever here of 4G LTE that's already in many cars?
So yeah, wish 'em luck with their plans to make OTA a subscription service. If I'm paying for TV, it'll be sans commercials.

Not bad, but Corner Gas is better.
