Sherry Margolis to retire from Fox 2

She announced it this evening. She’s been at the station for more than 35 years. She’s one of my favorite media personalities in Detroit. Her last day is next week. She will be sorely missed.

She graduated from high school in 1973, so she'll most likely be 65 this year.

Such a great talent. Trustworthy, calm, and never made her job about her. Seems like a lot of her on-air sparkle faded after her husband, author Jeffery Zaslow, died.

Hope she finds happiness in retirement.

WJBK keeps giving us fewer & fewer reasons to watch its newscasts.

It's not Fox 2's fault that they employed her until she retired at retirement age, in fact it's a mark in their favor. I doubt I'll work until I'm 65.

Sherry is one of the few left at WJBK that is worth watching. All that will be remaining will be Monica Gail and Huel Perkins after that Fox 2 will be pretty much useless.

Very sad to see her go. We were graced with her presence on the air. Very talented and attractive lady. She did come across as very genuine, I agree. I wish her the very best and thank you Sherry for the memories!

I remember back in the 80’s Jim Harper saying he had a crush on Sherry. He always talked about her.

EditorCJ - the problem is, the veterans leave and then the positon is either not refilled or is filled with far lesser talent.

The model of expensive talent like they used to employ isn’t sustainable...
