Some registered account users are experiencing password recognition issues. The issue appears to have been triggered by a PHP update on October 30. If this is occurring, please try logging in and using the "forgot password?" utility. Bear in mind auto-generated password reset emails may appear in your spam folder. If this does not work, please click the "Contact Us" option near the lower right hand corner of the index page to contact me via email. I have responded to all password reset requests received through 6a ET on November 7. You should see an email from the "Admin" email account.

November 9 update: Due to app errors, I have disabled the Tapatalk plug-in. As such, the Buzzboard is currently unavailable in Tapatalk. I am trying to do a clean reinstall, but each reinstall attempt is generating database errors. I am hopeful that the issue will be able to be resolved in the next few days.

Thank you for your patience!

Love those rare "skip" days. I remember getting WINK 96.5 fm, which is in Ft. Myers Florida, from Sylvania Ohio. I've also gotten a French Canadian station, not sure of the call letters on 93.5, totally blocking out Toledo's WRQN.

The Ionosphere was just right.

May, June, July and early August is the Sporadic-E season.

Sporadic-E is a layer about 100km of the Earth's surface that reflects radio waves back to Earth.

Since the E-layer is closer to the earth than the F-layer, the distances are shorter than the F2 skip that is far more prevalent.

On Low-VHF TV (2-6) and FM broadcast, most reception is from distances right around 1000 miles (1600km). Less than 800 miles (1300km) or more than 1400 miles (2200km) are rare.

However, F2 skip is usually restricted to radio waves below 30MHz, whilst Sporadic-E has been used as high as 225MHz - though it's most important on 6 meters and the FM Broadcast Band (3m).

Notably, the HF band is usually reflecting HF signals, while Es is far less prevalent.

Isn't WINK-FM on 96.9? Used to listen to them everyday from the Tampa Bay area until new local stations and LPFMs crowded them out.

Here in northern Michigan, there was definitely some e-skip that kicked in late afternoon. I picked up a severely over-processed CHR station on 104.1 (maybe KRBE Houston?)

Also heard a station overpower 102.1 WLEW several times....first time I've EVER had that station get overpowered in my location. And on 107.7, briefly caught a liner of "The Best Music of All Time" but I have no idea what station this was.

Over in Manistee, I had most of the full-power Denver stations in last evening (between 7-8pm ET).

In an FM DX Discord group I'm in, some of the others in it caught 88.7 CIMX, 88.7 WIAA, 91.1 WOLW, 91.9 WGCP, 93.7 WBCT, 93.9 WDOR, and 96.7 WBDK.
