All of you who think medical personnel are superheroes need to get your head examined.

They’re not “fighting the virus.” They’re not “stopping the virus.” They AREN’T DOING ANYTHING!

Here’s what’s going on right now.

If someone has COVID-19 symptoms and they go to the hospital, they simply stay there. The medical staff may get them water, feed them, ask them if they’re comfortable, but there’s no cure, and no treatment.

The patient either recovers or dies and the medical staff had nothing to do with either outcome.

I partially agree. There are antibiotics that help with secondary infection, but being in the hospital itself probably isn't increasing your odds too much, in fact that they recycle medical supplies mean could be spreading things between patients. No thanks!

The medical workers are risking things anytime they are with an infectious patient, I think that deserves a lot respect, but it's what they signed up for too. I pray for them daily!

PS My cousin works for GE inspecting nuclear reactors. I think he is nuts, but it's what he signed up for...

The people doing this work are doing nothing more than following treatment protocols and orders that others have instructed them to do. They are fully aware that what they are doing may only serve as comfort care.

Until you are willing to invest the time they have in getting educated in and then working in providing health care during a pandemic that has killed 52,000 people in the USA in just weeks, I suggest a giant helping of shut the f*** up.

Amen! Because everyone realizes that the mortality rate is sky high once a vent is required, the docs are working their tails off to provide more and more therapies that can make it so those vents are truly a last resort and improve the outcomes for many. These therapies are the absolute key to getting to a point where we can start relaxing a lot of the fear and need for ICU beds.

Yet GM brags, “We’re saving lives by making ventilators!”

They should be saying, “We’re lowering people into graves slightly slower!”
