Bad morning shows

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Bad morning shows

Unread post by Deleted User 15062 »

WOW! I just tuned into Eric Chase.... Seriously? An elevator music version of a Nervana song???? If that was not bad enough, The guy on the phone hybrid, unprocessed by the way, which means the guy was not hot enough on the board, arguing about a boy band song on the air. Let's not get into the fact the phoned in guy is echoey. Cumulus, check the E-Skimmer! Horrible radio... at it's worst. Both above said events were back to back! Terrible is an understatement. Why is Eric still on??? Get a major player in that show an ISDN or some other way, other than phone, Like Zoom or Skype, Facetime etc., to be on air.

Rick Cruz or the PD should have tutored the phone host NOT to be in an empty drywalled room, without blankets, curtains or some other padding to dampen the sound, and be on the air. That's simple Radio 101, that we all learned in college!

I would expect these 2 things with WBGU FM HD1, in BG. Not for a major corporate station.

What other garbage shows are you hearing?

If you were in radio in 1979, and had a time machine to now, you would kick everyone's asses to the curb. CKLW had to hit spots in a quarter second in 1972. All the local AM's were going after WSPD, so they gave a good go of it to dethrone them, and did once in a while. Even the all night overnight DJ from 11pm to 5am was a worthwhile program on the AM stations in the 70's! Come to everything going to sh*t after 1996, it's so hard to find quality radio anymore.
So, arriving back at 2020, surprisingly, some of the very local religious stations (not satelliters) have some of the better quality local shows as they have people who where were on the air or engineers from when radio was REAL and local and do a decent job- probably for free, or next to it too; two examples: WNOC with Ron Finn (engineered by former WSPD engineer) and Corpus Christi station KLUX-HD1 run by old radio pros and still use an hourly 'clock' for programming time and answer your calls and emails despite only a live morning show for now.

Umm WOHO.... WNOC and being LGBTQ... not at all a match. So, cannot say that I listen to or watch "Catholic" anything. Nice to your speakers, then backstab you when you turn around. Sounds like Arlington Ave., past and present.

Plus, not really a talk radio fan.

Radio's focus had changed. Not for the better though.
