What will happen to 107.5 WGPR come January 1, 2020??

In recent years, I've thought this signal could be put to better use. I honestly would not mind seeing it sold to someone else.

Not that it would bill worth a shit, but a format akin to Old School Saturday would be cool. Go even older than the other throwback stations are willing to go. I think the old school R&B is covered with Mix and Kiss, but those are white owned. Masons can focus on black audiences.

My vote is for Classic Soul, similar to what the dopes at Urban One attempted here on 99.9, and on 1230//101.5 in Cincinnati. I don't like Hip Hop and Mumble Rap mixed in with Al Green, Aretha, Anita, and Teddy Pendergrass.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 12:34 pm Not that it would bill worth a shit, but a format akin to Old School Saturday would be cool. I had the station on periodically last night to see if anything was happening. I just don't get it. Can someone explain it to me? No tune, no melody, just...tick tick tick titititititi tick tick tick titititititi tick and "money, weed, pussy, ass... I'm awesome, I got everything". How did we go from Al Green to...that?Colonel Flagg wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 12:48 pmMy vote is for Classic Soul, similar to what the dopes at Urban One attempted here on 99.9, and on 1230//101.5 in Cincinnati. Classic soul wouldn’t be bad on a throwaway AM, but I don’t know if it is enough of a ratings and revenue draw for a full powered FM.

Now that there's about 5710374021 different options for Gospel/Religious programming found on AM and FM, they missed the boat on that one. I just don't understand why the Masons went with an LMA like this in the first place.
