1910 Fruitgum Co. "Hard Ride" (1969)
1910 Fruitgum Co. "Hard Ride" (1969)
My story of the "bubblegum" group The 1910 Fruitgum Co. "Hard Ride" (from 1969 on Buddah) which is NOW available on itunes website!! The album cover has the "Hell's Angels" & their motorcycles!! The album did NOT charted on Billboard's "Top 200 Album Charts". The song "The Train" went to # 57 in October 1969 BUT there are 2 versions of that song. The MONO 45 single has the "choo choos" while the STEREO version does not have it!! The MONO version of "The Train" as well as the flip MONO 45 "Eternal Light" (which is 1:50 NOT 2:25 & can be found on "The Best Of" CD import from Repertoire which is a misprint on the Buddah label) are not on itunes. The group had 3 more 45 singles including "When We Get Married" (went to # 118 in December 1969 on Billboard's Bubbling Under The Hot 100 Charts & later on "Juiceist Fruitgum: The Best Of" album in 1970) as well as "Go Away" (Super K Records & did NOT chart) & the song "Lawdy, Lawdy" (on a different label & also did NOT charted) & they disbanded in late 1970. The group reunited in 2007 & released "Bubblegum Christmas" in late 2008. More on the story: https://forum.amcorner.com/threads/the- ... 13/page-60

Here is their appearance of "The Train" from John Byner's "Something Else" TV show from 1970 which is at the 2:07 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqNMG310K6k

Not to be dismissive of a genre of music you seem to like but I always thought Bubblegum Groups weren't exactly groups. They were more or less a group of studio musicians put together for various recordings. I guess The Archie's Sugar Sugar would the best example of this.

Finally posted on YouTube, the weirdest song on that album which is an instrumental "In The Beginning"/"The Thing" (which "The Thing" starts at the 1:30 mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VdcBpu1x4A

Re: 1910 Fruitgum Co. "Hard Ride" (1969)
On the 1910 Fruitgum Co. "Hard Ride", the song "Eulogy" Lyrics: "When I die I wanna be buried in a pot garden, when I die I wanna be buried in a pot garden, & if you can't find a garden, just buried me in the grass!!!" (which goes to the song "Seulb") when an Janis Joplin wannabe sings her heart out!!
