Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
Will be interesting to see how the media covers his passing. He definitely had his share of controversy over the years but overall represented his constituents well, IMO.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
You know the Liberal press will not go out of their way to praise him, he was one of a kind.
Rip Mr. Patterson
Rip Mr. Patterson
Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
Sad to hear, a staunch advocate for Oakland Co. he wouldnt budge on many issues he thought would be a detriment for his constituents.
He wasnt wishy washy he stood his ground and I commend him for that A giant, the likes we wont see again in these parts.

I suppose if you lived in Oakland County he was a "giant of a man" but if you lived anywhere else he was just a giant asshole.

He stood up for Oakland County and didn’t let Detroit push him around. That was his job. I don’t even live in Oakland yet I understand his positions.

Brooks Patterson was the definition of what politicians are supposed to be. He stood his ground on positions that affected his constituents. He didn’t care what the other side thought and he was right 100% of the time. He was no bull shit and you knew exactly what he thought on the issues. There is no one like him currently in this political climate. Was he perfect? No. But he did a phenomenal job.
FWIW... Andy Meisner is an absolute joke and will ruin Oakland County. I guarantee it.

Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
I loved how the original proposal called for all townships & municipalities in all four counties to pay for that quagmire, even the communities that were 10 - 20 miles away from the closest proposed bus route.
A well-conceived regional transit plan could prove to be an asset to the region. However, the proposal that made the ballot in 2016 and the replacement proposal that almost made the ballot in 2018 were NOT well-conceived plans.
Warren Evans in eulogizing Mr. Patterson actually mentioned some things of which I was previously unaware. Those who view Patterson as overly provincial or as an adversary to Wayne County should read Mr. Evans' comments; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you learn.

Have to mention when he was pulled over for DUI back in 2003, and was given a lift home by the accommodating Oakland County Sheriff deputies, now if that was you, or me....
Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
And it's almost the one year anniversary of Brooks stating that he would rather join the Klan then a regional chamber of commerce to promote Detroit as a place to do business.

Couldn't have happened to a better piece of crap. I hope he's burning in hell right now.
Re: L. Brooks Patterson is dead
The transit system didn’t benefit Wayne County either, just Detroit. I voted against it.
