Re: Snow forecast
Anyone who tries to convince anyone that they can predict future events is knowingly making a false statement with the intention of deceiving.bmw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:34 amFor the most part I avoid responding to your posts here and elsewhere on this site because I think you're here to troll and nothing else (and how some of your posts haven't found their way into the DBR is beyond baffling to me), but I have to respond to this. Are you suggesting that the meteorologists who work for the local tv stations in this market are knowingly and intentionally providing false information to the public with the intention of deceiving the public into believing that the weather is going to do something different than what their professional prediction leads them to believe is actually going to do? Because that is what a lie is - making a knowingly false statement with the intention of deceiving.lovinlife101 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:44 amBecause they’re liars. Takes one to know one, autoliar.
If this is indeed your contention, I'd love to see your evidence.
Even when they’re “right,” they’re wrong.
Consider a “cold reading” that “mediums” and “psychics” use.
Liar: “I’m getting an ‘m’ or an ‘a.’”
Deceived fool: “Derp, my mom’s name was Alice! You know da future!”
Nobody knows the future. Anyone who tells you that, regardless if it’s regarding weather, love, career, or anything else, they are knowingly trying to deceive you.
Next question, please.

Re: Snow forecast
You could say predicting the winner of the upcoming Super Bowl is scientific based on computer modeling. That doesn’t make anyone or anything capable of predicting future events. Looks like that’s a battle you’re willing to fight for, I’m game.
Psychics, mediums, and meteorologists have the same capabilities to predict future events. There’s nothing special about meteorologists that make them more accurate. There’s nothing special about cops that make them more moral, but you believe that too.
Laugh all you want.
Skepticism is healthy. Blind faith is toxic.
I’ll be over here hanging out with my friends evidence, logic, and reason.

Oh DAC-ula, did nobody ever tell you he who smelt it dealt it?DAC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 6:41 pmActually, you're wrong about that, 101. Does that make you a liar? Or can people be wrong but not lying?lovinlife101 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 6:11 pmIt didn’t stink until your profanity.
In other news, I don’t trust meteorologists to give me current conditions.
The stank came with you.

The conversation was going well until DAC-ula literally defecated all over it.DAC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:33 pmAbsolutely correct, Dudley. 101 trolled the thread and took it off topic, with an unprovoked attack on Autolab. But it's okay, because 101 doesn't use profanity, right? Metalhead doesn't care, so why should we? I say if 101 acts like a douche, we call 101 a douche. Hey 101! You're a douche!
Initial post, response, my thoughtful response and a greeting to autoliar, more polite conversation, then DAC-ula takes a number two to it.

The meteorologists’ delusions are much better!
Where’s all the Saturday evening snow?
Nothing! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
They were predicting snow-mageddon and snow-pocalypse just 24 hours ago. And now, nothing.
Oh, but they didn’t lie, they just didn’t tell the truth and expected us to believe them.
No harm done.

Three days ago, this was posted.

It has since been taken down.
If it was accurate, which it wasn’t, why would it be taken down?
Maybe because it proves my point.

Far be it from me to criticize your grammar but I'm guessing you mean "taken down."
And, no, it was not "taken down" to "prove my point."
Most (all?) broadcast websites are now designed and programmed to allow for weather forecasts to automatically be replaced when a newer version is posted.
News and sports stories are "archived." Weather forecasts are not.
Click on it! You’ll see!
If weather forecasts are automatically replaced when a newer version is posted, WHERE IS IT?
The crickets are so peaceful here.

Click the link for the “facts.” It’s gone!
Try it, autoliar!
Oh, and I never have and never will work for any broadcasting company. I’m not a “he” either, but thanks for playing.
Don’t you have some Native Americans to heckle?

GOT IT, SKIPPY!
Fun facts for you to chew on:
1. I am not who you think I am.
2. I have never worked in a newsroom.
3. I am not male.
But, you believe these lies and willfully continue to perpetual these lies, autoliar.

Um, okay.
Just waiting for consistency with the folks who like to call me out when they think I'm off-topic. Won't happen here. Double standard.

You have said you “really, really despise trolls.” You have called me a “troll.”autolab wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 5:44 pm HL101: Just like you edited your post after using extremely poor grammar, you're now trying to lie your way out of being caught being a fraud.

Now, it would be really nice if --instead of derailing posts -- you would stick to the topic at hand. This post initially started out as a respectful discussion on why meteorologists at the same tv station can have wildly varying forecasts.

Allow me to reflect on what the great Martin Luther King Jr. said about that.
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” — MLK Jr.
I don’t hate or despise anyone. I only love. It’s in my name. I will never try to silence anyone. Sad that the feelings aren’t mutual.
