Engler Out at MSU
Can’t understand placing no empathy Engler in MSU leadership position when great sensitivity was required due to the gymnastics doctor’s sex crimes. Sickening Engler statement that only made victims and their families feel worse.

Engler was a washed up has been anyways... he wasn’t even that good of a governor either... I didn’t really get why they picked him myself...screen glare wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 2:45 pm Can’t understand placing no empathy Engler in MSU leadership position when great sensitivity was required due to the gymnastics doctor’s sex crimes. Re: Engler Out at MSU
MSU has done everything wrong until now. I hope this starts turning the ship around.
A piece of the MSU pie
I fully expected Engler to be a short timer at MSU.
When it was announced he would be interim president, I figured he just dropped by for a lifelong stipend.
I'm sure if some media outlet put forth the effort to look into it, they would find he is leaving with something like Simon's golden parachute. A nice pre-arranged financial package, tickets to all the games, etc.

How convenient that a Socialist leaning Liberal Arts University, heavily dominated by Democrats, like MSU, with all their tolerance of deviant sexual behavior, like Larry Nasser and MSU, and like Jerry Sandusky and Penn State, can scapegoat a RINO like John Engler, in order to paint all Republicans with a broad brush and then tar and feather them.Mike Oxlong wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 4:24 am I fully expected Engler to be a short timer at MSU.

Disagreeing with Communists is NOT an impeachable offense.

MSU has totally bumbled this every step of the way. I cannot believe how oblivious they are to the sensitivity of the situation. In addition I don't know if I'm wrong but I feel as if they have got a bit of a free pass from the Michigan media. I think Mike Valenti has been one of the media members that have held their feet to the fire.

I came here to speculate the same thing. Public universities are hostile and intolerant of any views outside of the far-left ideology they indoctrinate and push. It seemed very strange that they would choose an unpopular, but well-known, former Republican governor for the position. Yeah, he sounds like a jerk in some cases. It also sounds like a lot of the opposition to him was purely partisan. Public Universities dont even want Republicans as faculty members, so putting one in that top spot is possibly a setup. Make all Republicans look bad by promoting an old, cranky washed-up former governor to a spot where they can find any excuse to destroy him.TC Shuts Up wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:11 amHow convenient that a Socialist leaning Liberal Arts University, heavily dominated by Democrats, like MSU, with all their tolerance of deviant sexual behavior, like Larry Nasser and MSU, and like Jerry Sandusky and Penn State, can scapegoat a RINO like John Engler, in order to paint all Republicans with a broad brush and then tar and feather them.Mike Oxlong wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 4:24 am I fully expected Engler to be a short timer at MSU.

The antidote to all that is simple... don’t be an idiot...Y M Ionhere wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 8:35 amI came here to speculate the same thing. Obama said we had 57 states. He must have been a dreaming about a Kerry-Heinz ticket.
Arguing over an aural typo of 42.5 vs 425...what's the point?

Answer this: why would they hire an idiot to begin with? We know who and how he is. Hes been a very public figure here. They had to have known he was boorish. Hes no stranger to Michiganders.NS8401 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 10:51 amThe antidote to all that is simple... don’t be an idiot...Y M Ionhere wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 8:35 amI came here to speculate the same thing. Re: Engler Out at MSU
I still stand by my first post in this thread.
Engler was appointed to get his face in the trough.
He knew he would be a short-timer. The people that appointed him knew he would be a short-timer.
Just enough time to saddle up to the golden tittie, and milk some lifelong benefits out of the MSU cash cow.
Intentionally sticking his foot in his mouth, as some of you say, so the resignation has justification.
Just a good ol' boy with more connections than Greyhound getting took care of.
All planned out by all the parties involved.
