Toledo has a new radio station.
Was surfing the FM band in Toledo, and noticed that WPAY-AM and 103.3 FM broke simulcast with 106.5's religious programming. The station is currently playing 2000s pop hits with no liners. However, the RDS display for the station says "Check out Andrew Z, on Party 103!"

Actually this is not an LPFM, which would have to be non commercial. This is an FM translator, which along with WPAY-AM and another translator at 92.1 is now owned by this company - Jamtraxx Media. (92.1 FM has a construction permit to move to 94.1, but I'm having trouble finding it.)The fearless leader of the Buzzboard wrote:Those of you who predicted Andrew Z would reappear on an LPFM were in the right ballpark.

FM translators can only rebroadcast, not create original programming. And 103.3 just got permission to be commercial (was non-commercial during the K-Love era.) I'll bet this same audio is on 1520AM right now. Wonder what's on 92.1... (I would listen, but the yacht just left the dock in Belize.)

Re: Toledo has a new radio station.
It looks like this will be a rhythmic station of some kind with a name like Party 103.3?
I kind of actually thought that the Truth Network was here to stay on 103.3/1520.
It appears that 1520 is running the exact same audio.

Andrew Z in the morning? Andrew Z? That man is like a cockroach.

Font choice in a logo, and spacing, matters.

AMFMTV - I think hilarious they will be "Toledo' Shits & Throwbacks." Seems extremely appropriate, given who's involved.
Re: Toledo has a new radio station.
Who launches a radio station with zero branding? I haven't heard one sweeper. So they are rolling with a format, but no name. Nothing. What a disaster.

Re: Toledo has a new radio station.
The official launch is supposed to be Tuesday at 10:33am.
Meanwhile, with 107.3 recently pivoting to Adult R&B/Urban AC, this apparently takes Toledo back up to three hip-hop stations.
