I remember the AOR format on WDMJ. Who was PD then?

I suspect WDMJ will not be rebuilt. I understand the sale of this group to Armada Media (or some related entity) never closed, and the damage to the WDMJ site will require a complete rebuild. Good luck finding contractors to tackle that job.

Here's a wild idea... Is there some reason why WDMJ can't move to the former 1240 site on U.S.41? There must be, because it almost seems too easy.

Too far. Bad conductivity in between.

A better idea would be to diplex WZAM 970. And there are plenty of different licensees diplexing the same tower or towers. They need a translator though because the Night wouldn't likely be very good.

Looks like it could be 250 watts Class B with a 2 tower array near the WZAM tower.

There is no required NIF contour over Marquette now, but it would be best to have a decent power level and field strength over Marquette.

They need to do something, especially since 1320 is the ONLY local affiliate broadcasting Red Wings games. It used to be on Magic 97 and 94.9 The Bay, which are both very strong locally. I'd like to know whose stupid wasteful idea that was.

The terrain is so hilly, and the soil conductivity so poor, that, as a class IV station, unable to exceed the 1kw Class C limit, its signal would be weak in Marquette.

My uncle lived in Marquette back in the 1940s. He travelled on US 41 a lot between Marquette and Ishpeming. He said neither WDMJ nor WJPD could be heard, at least hardly at all, in the other city.
