WXII Ch. 12 analog looks lousey on cable.

Whats with WXII? On Spectrum cable in TC they have flashing, lines, and bars in the picture. Also sound is bad, and sounds out of phase. Cosi TV net. has some good shows on but are un-watchable.

It's been like that for years and years on Charter/Spectrum. The one time I have viewed them over-the-air, there were some weird artifacts in the picture; perhaps the artifacts are made worse by the video signal being digitized for cable distribution.

They do have a construction permit for digital facilities on channel 30. Let's hope they follow through and successfully make the transition.

It was like that back in 2011 when it was WLLZ. Charter in TC for some reason had Ch 4 auto-switch to WLLZ when it lost connection from WPBN.

Right now wxii looks pretty good on charter TC, a little flicker but way better than it’s been. Right now I think the cozy tv feed is glitching up and freezing.

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried to watch Emergency this morning but it was rolling a lot,twitching and flashing. It wasn't bad yesterday but still not even close to todays cable quality as you see on all the other Spectrum channels.

Looks like they are now broadcasting in 480p hd digital on cable for Mi TV 12. Feeds a little choppy and so is news net(formerly minews 26) but the quality is really good now compared to Its Analog feed.

I noticed this a few days ago. Still needs some work but much better than before.

Freelancer's FCC filed and approved intent (from April 2019) is to add a Digital Companion signal on RF 30:

If I'm reading the information for the current and proposed additional digital antennas, the current analog one is only 100 feet above the ground--whereas the new digital one will be at the top of the tower 480 feet up. But in comparing the estimated population reached per the data within the site rabbitears.info, the RF 30 signal still won't reach quite as many as what the new RF 18 Digital Replacement Translator that WPBN added on their tower at the studio site.


If they were thinking of a flash cut, it'd be different filings with the FCC. They still could do that--there's no penalty for not seeing through an approved construction permit document.

WXII is now on WMNN and looks really good.
It is out of Lake City with very low power...less tha 500 watts.
It is on rf-14 and will move to rf-17 and go to 15Kw.

The line up is:
