They probably put it on the air for a necessary period of time, took readings, and submitted paperwork to the FCC to be awarded a fresh 6-month STA, with no intention of it being a viable station anytime soon. But, as someone mention in another thread, it's license renewal time in Michigan and some of these stations that aren't operating to the greater good of their communities might not get a rubber stamped license renewal. Q100 has yet to refresh liners; still referring to the simulcast between 100.3 and 99.3. But I imagine we'd all concur that ship with Roy Henderson has left the port and not likely to return.

Lawyers, contractors and family members run the stations today. I wouldn't factor Roy in your consideration of predicting the future.

Remember that if you make an offer to buy it that is reasonable, everything considered, it is infinitely better than trying to get the license revoked, which will result in at least a few years off the air, after auctions, reconstructiion, etc. Just because you don't like the licensee doesn't mean that you should be vindictive. It's counterproductive.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

While I think it's sad that a small community oriented radio station has pretty much gone away,I don't necessarily have anything against Mr Henderson himself.

Maybe something I'm not seeing, but it seems silly that a station that is either mostly off air or broadcasting from illegal facilities to be airing an open carrier with RDS.
