New Downtown TV5 Studio

Unread post by sinklair »

WNEM held a ribbon cutting for its rededicated Flint studio space.

Not sure why TV5 is making a big push in Flint. I doubt that Flint viewers will tune out from ABC 12. And as 25-66 has found out, making ratings in roads in Flint is nearly impossible.

I’m sure Ken believes there is a financial benefit by growing its advertising base. But it feels like Groundhog Day all over again…

Custer got a perm? And what's with the stubbly goatee? Not a good look for our trusted news source.

Rededication - We've had this space for a number of years collecting dust. We need to justify it, so we hijack an existing event downtown, buy a thick ribbon from Joann Fabric, and make it look like we made a large financial investment in Flint. We cut the ribbon, knowing innocent bystanders who have no clue what's going on will cheer because they see a ribbon being cut and a TV camera. We buy ourselves a year of goodwill, while letting dust continue to collect in the "studio". All for a $4.99 roll of ribbon and a giant scissors we found in a closet at the station.

That’s brilliant. I thought since Jayne was at 12 for so long, maybe she was going to go after 12’s audience and the downtown studio was a part of the strategy.

Jayne and Ken are the best leaders TV5 has had in a long time. Would only expect things to get better the more Gray gets established.

I thought Flint liked TV5 since its number1 as that was the reason Gray took TV5 and sold TV12 to Byron Allen.

Probably got a manicure, pedicure, and his eyebrows done too. Possibly a Brazilian wax as well.
Nice homophobia, jackass. Some of you in this forum, seek help.

That wasn’t your intended message. Again, seek help.

Gray HAD to take TV 5 as part of it's package deal with Meridith.

Do you really expect WNEM to do anything with that studio in Flint? The broadcasts from there were atrocious and a nightmare for Master Control. The split anchors was an experiment that should never have been repeated. Not to mention that the closed captioning was on a delay when it actually worked.

I still remember when they were at G-3426 Miller Road, by the bowling alley. They microwaved the signal to Hurley Hospital, which then microwaved it to Indiantown.
