Mike McCormick and Mike Caruso

Unread post by sinklair »

Sinclair regional corporate news director Mike McCormick -- along with Lame Michaelsen -- are the "brains" behind 25-66's failed "Mid-Michigan NOW!" rebranding campaign. Despite knowing nothing about the Flint-Saginaw TV market, McCormick came in and starting making drastic changes to our on-air look, editorial decisions and personnel. He is one of the reasons for the initial purge, where key staff members like sports director Jeanna Trotman, chief meteorologist Jamie Karol, weekend anchors Joel Feick and Femi Redwood and others (basically only people who were making more than minimum wage) were shown the door, either their contracts were ended early... or they weren't renewed.

McCormick brought his reign of terror to Flint after essentially being pushed out of WPEC, Sinclair's poorly run station in Palm Beach, Florida... where he faced numerous HR complaints and lawsuits.

Mike Caruso, who was a sports editor, at WPEC died last week. His former boss, Mike McCormick, might not have been the direct cause of Caruso's death, but the FTV Live article does a great job explaining how Sinclair runs its stations.

Do not believe the posts written anonymously by 25-66 managers bashing me... these are the same managers who let good people go, have driven our journalism into the ground, who refuse to promote any persons of color into senior management roles, who pay among the bottom wages in the market, who do nothing to improve morale.

Until SVP of "news" Scotty Livingston, regional "news" directors Lame Michaelsen and alleged killer Mike McCormick, the former GM/accountant in chief/egomaniac Chad Conklin, current handpicked Sinclair GM Jen Rieffer, ASSistant GM/Promotions Director Jamie Salamon, In Over Her Head News Director Neille-Ann Giffune, Director of Declining Sales Cody Mattson, and HR Director/Grilled Cheese Party Planner Ashley Beam are shown the door, things will NEVER change. 25-66 will remain a last place station in both ratings, revenue and morale.

If you don't believe me about the piss poor management on Pierson Road, just ask our colleagues at WPEC about Mike Caruso and how Mike McCormick made his life a living hell and how it likely took years off Caruso's amazing and inspiring life. RIP Mike Caruso. Prayers to our WPEC colleagues.

This is Sinclair.
