Future of WAQP

Unread post by 39pelican »

Earlier this year, TCT sold WAQP's translator in Lansing, WLMN, to WILX in order to improve their city coverage (which was lacking because of VHF). It was only for $125,000, not very much, plus with likely terrible view ship numbers, TCT must not doing very well. Is a sell off of WAQP likely? What would its fate be if TCT collapsed?

That being said, following a change in FCC regulations mandating local studios for TV stations, TCT had since closed down local studios and offices for all its stations other than the mothership in Illinois, and sold the properties to other interests. In WAQP's case, its only physical presence now is just the Chesaning transmitter.
