Master: 66 is dead last at 7am — after GMA, Today Show and CBS This Morning. It is just a repeat of 25’s morning news… so why would viewers turn over to watch 2 more hours of repeated content? They won’t until Sinclair Corporate Death Star, their handpicked GM and its In Over Her Head News Director actually invest in the show.

When we asked regional news Director Lame Michaelsen about airing a noon or midday newscast to compete in that daypart where 12 and 5 have a newscast, he gave lame excuses about there not being an audience. It’s just another excuse not to invest in local news. 5 and 12 have an audience. 5 and 12 are able to make money.

In previous years, the Olympics have had little impact on 25’s ratings. Viewers in the Flint DMA aren’t willing to sample Sinclair’s newscasts.

Regional ND Lame Michaelsen for 25/66 should be fired since they should have a midday show or noon newscast with it being dead last and would get to keep what little ad money they get for the newscast in the afternoon.

I agree that Sinclair regional News Director Lame Michaelsen should be fired. But why stop there? Clean house completely at the top. Get rid of the GM, ASSistant GM/Promotions Director, the In Over Her Head News Director, the Director of Declining Sales, the HR Director/Grilled Cheese Party planner. Send a strong message that putting on a quality news operation is top priority and the inept management that has left 25-66 in the ratings basement is not going to be tolerated. If you want to improve morale and send a message that things will/must change, this would be a great start.

Of course this will never happen. The inept Sinclair management will continue to protect themselves and blame everyone else for the causes that leave us with bad morale, bad ratings, bad revenue. It is well past time to break this cycle of management incompetence.
