New Mayor-No More Wallowing In Crisis?

Unread post by TC Shuts Up »

Hopefully, things will be wrapped up and they will move on instead of further wallowing in the Pb H20 Crisis.

It's not so much about radio as it is about Flint. This is the Regional Board that includes Flint.

The New York Times continues to spew falsehoods about the Flint Water Crisis. There is no significant amount of Lead in untreated Flint River Water. It was used for decades without problems. The Lead found was from LEAD SUPPLY PIPES, and possibly OLD SOLDER, that was leached out by a slightly acidic pH from additives. Many cities have Lead supply pipes, present in MANY, USUALLY OLDER, WATER SYSTEMS. If secret testing was done on many water systems in many cities, Lead levels in some cities would be found at alarming levels. Actually, they already have been found, resulting in some school closures.

I'm glad that Flint has a new mayor. I would hope that he leads with real improvements, and not constant crises.

No matter where you get your drinking water, you should filter it in some way.

What I find interesting is how many media employees unashamedly worked on Sheldon’s campaign. He worked in master control at ABC12. Wink wink. Nod nod.

Even the media’s darling Rico Phillips, who managed to put in an astounding 27 working years into his career, said of the Flint mayoral election “Ding dong the witch is dead.”

Stay classy, Flint.

Flint River water flows into Lake Huron and the Detroit River eventually. But it begins in Oakland County (South Branch) near Oxford, and Lapeer County, (North Branch) and generally goes West before flowing into the Saginaw River and turning toward Lake Huron. The water intake is upstream from industrial pollution and sewage treatment. The Kharegondhi Pipeline gets its water from Lake Huron, just like one branch of the Detroit Pipeline, but several miles further North. The clamor for staying on the Detroit water system has much more to do with politics and revenue than it does for any concern about the people drinking the water. The centralization of the Southeast Michigan water systems began during some drought years in the 1960s, when some city wells went nearly dry. Now city wells are seen as much more desirable and clean by its users.
