I'd rather gouge my eyeballs with razor blades than listen to her. Bring back Steve Aldrich!!!!!
I do have to admit, it's a good shtick they're doing here. Getting the word out via FB is smart. I guess I would love to know why listeners were left hanging during all of 2019 with no useful updates from LAV staff or management?

I’m in Lansing currently and tuned into LAV today. It generally came in loud and clear before their tower issues. Now it comes in but nowhere near like it used to
Re: Loud and Proud, WLAV back to 100%
LAV's new tower is 15-20 miles farther to the west than its old siteRealist wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 10:05 pm+1MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 6:38 pmI'd rather gouge my eyeballs with razor blades than listen to her. Bring back Steve Aldrich!!!!!

"Mrs Warmth", whoever she is (Lori Bennett probably), is obviously a Cumulus corporate shill.

Re: Loud and Proud, WLAV back to 100%
Their audio processing sounded pretty piss poor when I listened on Saturday & Sunday. Back to the super tinny sound we all got to "enjoy" last fall. High end is ridiculously over emphasized. Bass is largely absent. Someone really likes the sound of cymbals, I guess. Do the people who work at WLAV ever listen to their own station over the air?
As poor as WLAV sounded, WBFX's processing sounded EVEN WORSE!!! At least I could tolerate 96.9's processing. 101.3 is absolute trash in multiple respects (morning show, playlist, processing). C'mon, iHeart! Sell the damn station to a group who'll actually program it with more than an ounce of effort.
I will say 94.5's audio processing was superb, as was WGRD's! Both sounded phenomenal from a technical standpoint.
Signal wise, WLAV didn't make it out quite as far as February. Reception was pretty crappy already around Portland. Still rock solid from M-66 westward, though.
The imaging on 105.3 also sounds like trash. Screaming voiceover guy with a gruff voice coupled with a corny positioner ("YOUR Hit Music Channel!). That's a better line than "GR's Hottest Hits;" really?!?! I thought I was listening to a Rock 40 station circa 1989. Millenials don't want to hear pukey voiceover guy screaming at them after nearly every song. All that was missing was outrageous music pitching. WSNX and Mix 95.7 sound so much better than 105.3 that it ain't funny.
WOOD-FM definitely did something to enhance their signal. It's back to the same strength as the glory days of WMUS. Was getting an HD lock intermittently all the way into western Ionia County. That's impressive. A couple years ago, the ANALOG signal would struggle over that same area.

It's just an artist concession for all their listeners that blew out their >8kHz hearing ability from sitting too close to the stacks at a Van Halen show...MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 8:30 pmTheir audio processing sounded pretty piss poor when I listened on Saturday & Sunday. Exactly why I have Sirius in all my vehicles. Lame same old crap. Try digging into some ALBUMS from the 60's and 70's...wait, I won't listen anyway.
Anyone remember ABC Love Radio and Brother John? Summer 1970ish. Or WXTO or WGVU at 5 Watts? Now that was great 'underground' radio back in the day.

Ditto that.
There is sime sort of bizarre variable bandwidth allocation that goes on at Sirius XM. Sometimes, the audio sounds very respectable. Other times (like this morning), it sounds rotten.

WLAV's signal is not strong in Newaygo. From the old site on Pettis it was very good up there.

If you mean Newaygo city, are you listening from up on the hill (south of town) or down low in the valley?
Lots of stations struggle near the M-37 / Muskegon River bridge.
