Looks like SW Michigan will soon have another option for NPR / PRI programming on nearly a 24/7 basis.
102.1 WMUK is offloading most if not all of its classical, opera and bluegrass programming to tiny 89.9 WKDS as well as its own HD2 station. Jazz music during overnights will remain on the primary WMUK signal.
The rest of the time, the primary WMUK signal will feature mostly national talk shows. This will position the station closer to Michigan Radio (104.1 WVGR) formatically.

Acceptable registrations in the queue through May 6 at 7:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

WMUK has very detailed write-up about the changes on their website: https://www.wmuk.org/2020.
They did not go into detail about the ownership status of the 89.9 frequency. From what I can find online, 89.9 is still owned by Kalamazoo Public Schools.
For those of you not in the Kalamazoo area, the classical format is now airing on 89.9.

I like this change quite a bit, being in the fringe of almost all three signals for NPR in St. Joseph. Every one of them has noise somewhere around town. On the page Michigan Media mentioned above, it's slightly misleading to see that they used the fringe signal pattern to show that 102.1 would stretch as far as Elkhart, IN and over to St. Joe. Compare with the radio locator map... https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?c ... service=FM

Sounds like a mix of WDET and WRCJ.
