On Screen Faces Departing FOX 17

Unread post by Trophyhead »

Brody Carter walks after the 4th of July, Alyssa Hearin bolts as of tomorrow.

Carter said he'll look for "opportunities outside the State of Michigan," Hearin may have something cooking like Leon Hendrix found with Spectrum, as she is "combining my passion for both science and communications and diving into the medical field."

I don't watch too much these days, but it appears Lauren Kummer and Angeline McCall have been taking to the anchor desk on occasion, wonder how they will shape their lineup for aaalllllll that news they do.

What’s going on over there? For awhile it seemed like they had a nice up and coming talent pool. Now it seems like nobody can leave fast enough.

Their News Director of 8 years, Brooks Blanton also just left for NC in June.

Does anybody know what's really happening there?

At this rate, "Davis" will be pulling anchoring shifts before Labor Day.

Can't expect they will get a tie on him, and the baseball caps will be allowed, for the continuance of character. A plaid sportcoat might be just the accent necessary in such a case.

With Brody and Alyssa gone, it appears WXMI may have a shortage of news anchors. This week their morning news hasn't been starting until 5am. Yet their "here's what you missed" promos for the morning news still say "starting at 4:30am".

In the 4:30am timeslot, the parent company Scripps produced Newsfeed has been airing, which usually airs at 7pm. And at 7pm (at least for tonight), it is an episode of Friends.

Newsfeed sucks glad that it is now on the graveyard at 4:30AM anything is better at 7PM than Newsfeed. I'm wondering if You Bet Your Life will be taking over 7PM to 8PM for a full hour come the fall which debuts on Sep 13 even know promos haven't said that. I only know it is Sep 13 on a different forum as someone saw a promo saying that You Bet Your Life with Jay Leno debuting on Sep 13, I know no cares LOL.

It is sad that he is often the subject of the "in case you missed the show this morning" promos.

Former employee here. Can confirm it is Scripps making everyone want to leave. Management can’t get out fast enough, and then the lack of leadership has made others want to jump ship. Pay rates are terrible and they’re just now trying to make progress that should have been made years ago. It was a great newsroom but Scripps has really destroyed everyone’s will to work and the viewership in a short amount of time.
