Isn't Laura originally from this area? Wondering if she wanted to return to her roots.

Hi MWmetalhead,MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 6:11 am Good hire for WXMI, it would appear.
I wonder why she left Denver? That's a top 20 market!
I happened to catch a segment of Laura presenting on AccuWeather a couple of years ago, that brought to my attention that she had indeed left Denver. My guess is that she sensed the national exposure with AccuWeather was a move up the TV ladder.
This 2015 article notes she wasn't in Denver very long (one-two years, as Denver is mentioned as happening for her in 2014, then on to AccuWeather):

But perhaps even more interesting is that it wasn't her choice to part ways with AccuWeather, to the point that she has sued them about using COVID as an excuse for breaking her employment contract (and apparently no other on-air personality's):

After seeing the WXMI post linked as the first entry in this thread, I wondered if she'd be working remotely. But per her tweet today (from her Twitter handle thread that she'd left dormant for almost a year), apparently relocation back to West Michigan is occurring:

Cue Bon Jovi's "Who Says You Can't Go Home" now please.
I can still remember catching her some of her initial weekends on WOOD when she was interning from CMU--her delivery improved greatly and became much more personable. Indeed a good hire for WXMI which might draw a few viewers away from WOOD to watch her as a hometown product (Jenison).
Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi

Statmanmi, kind of the opposite with Christina Anthony. She left WWMT to work in her home state, yet came back to WWMT. Her popularity in this area is pretty big, so perhaps she did come home again?!? Judging from her posts since she’s been back, I have a feeling Christina really, really loves the west-side pond.

Welcome back home Laura I saw her on ACCUWeather largely in the mornings on WZZM OnTarget Weather Network. I was kinda surprised she was in Denver for one hot minute then moved to ACCUWeather too bad that didn't work out for her and is suing them.

Is she married, or is she available? Is she a good cook, and will she do my laundry?

Considering her vast experience I expect she will soon relax a bit during her weathercasts - or has she always had such a hyper/anxious manner of delivery?

Laura does fine. Kevin Craig looks and acts more wound up than she does (now).WMnewslover wrote:She has always been that hyper/anxious awkwardly enthusiastic style.humblenewsman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:33 pm Considering her vast experience I expect she will soon relax a bit during her weathercasts - or has she always had such a hyper/anxious manner of delivery?

She was certainly much more relaxed in D.C. and at the place on heritage hill a few years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFDfgu571KM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umHKU8suEB4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXzhMTYy5F8

I've seen her a few times now, not watchable for my taste. If she wants to fit in delivery-wise, she should go to wwmt and join the screaming and the shouting from Porter and Thompson. If I wanted to have someone yell while reading me the weather forecast, I'd have my wife do it. (It should be obvious she doesn't visit this board) wwmt is no longer watchable either for my taste.humblenewsman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:33 pm Considering her vast experience I expect she will soon relax a bit during her weathercasts - or has she always had such a hyper/anxious manner of delivery?
