The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contradicted the Whitmer administration Monday, saying the answer to Michigan's "acute situation" with COVID-19 is not to surge vaccines but to shut down the state and "flatten the curve."
"Really what we need to do in those situations is shut things down," CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said during a Monday briefing.
"I think if we tried to vaccinate our way out of what is happening in Michigan, we will be disappointed that it took so long for the vaccine to work — to actually have the impact."

When these fools who refuse to get vaccinated start getting vaccinated and we don't have mass spread of these new more dangerous variants.
Johnson & Johnson vaccine has really proven itself to be pretty good against many of these newer variants.

The demand for vaccines currently exceeds the distributed supply. As such, even if 100 percent of the population was ready and willing to get vaccinated right now, the number of people currently vaccinated would be identical to what it actually is today.
That is, unless TCT has evidence of vaccine distribution centers administering vaccines at a less than optimal rate due to lack of demand.

Can you comment on the Biden Administration’s refusal to surge vaccines?
Whitless commented...
In a call with Whitmer late Thursday, Biden outlined that Washington is providing Michigan with more federal resources to support vaccinations, testing and therapeutics, but not vaccines, in an effort to control the state’s worst-in-the-nation COVID-19 transmission rate.
Whitmer said she understands that the White House is committed to its plan but she's going to keep pushing for more vaccinations in the state.
"We are definitely grateful for the boots on the ground, that they're sending the mobile units ... the therapeutics and the increased testing, those are all really important," Whitmer said.
"We're going to continue to work well with this White House ...
How much different of a tune would she be singing if...
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Sorry, not true. I could get an appointment within 3 days.

Take away six years of pay from these people and watch how they change about implementing a shut down. If the state shuts down, they are not affected.
I’d say if another shutdown happens, demand for politicians paychecks for six years should happen so it can be given to small businesses. If the politicians truly cared about saving people, they would agree upon this. After all their shutdowns already ruined people’s finances for year and years to come.

Sure... surging vaccines will be helpful in 5-6 weeks once people have both shots and then the immunity has taken hold which is additional time after the second dose. Shutting down for a month would be more effective in the short term to stem the surge while vaccinations continue.

Shutting down is NOT effective. That is the point, and that is why we are in the current predicament.

It slows it down. And actually if there was zero interaction and everyone recovered from the virus and nobody was contagious it would stop it. That’s how New Zealand and Australia eradicated it. So it’s damned effective but EVERY LAST FUCKING SOUL has to be on board.

The chance of that ever happening expired approximately 365 days ago.
The Flatten The Curve bullshit doesn't work anymore. We need 2 weeks to flatten the curve...that was more than a year ago. People are tired of lies and want the truth. For some reason the truth isn't top of mind of those in charge. Maybe, just maybe, try being 100 percent honest, you might be surprised at the response you get. Short of armed troops patrolling, there is no way another lockdown will work because people will ignore the order.

If it works then why won’t politicians give up their salary for 5-6 years to small businesses for a full lockdown? Hey it’s to keep people safe right? So why won’t they? Hmmm think about it. Politicians want to ruin small businesses financially but politicians don’t want to be ruin financially.
