Re: Public school teacher says Trump is the president, gets fired
With any luck, this guy will get a real job, as an actual babysitter.

Exactly. Trump is the President.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Those who "can't", "teach". Those who "teach" whine about having to work 70% of the year.

The union is not backing this guy. If he was fired over those tweets, they would have insta-filed a grievance.
There is clearly a lot more behind his dismissal than his politics.

There must be some sort of conduct or performance issue in the mix.Howard Jones wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:31 am The union is not backing this guy. If he was fired over those tweets, they would have insta-filed a grievance.

You have to explain to RT he just doesn’t get it. It just flew over his head that’s why you got that emoji.Rate This wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 11:39 amlovinlife101 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:35 amI pay my “babysitters” more than any public school teacher makes. MEA CULPA!
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Public school teacher says Trump is the president, gets fired
Not the MEA, these kind of things are handled by a local unit, the Walled Lake Education Association. The terms of their collective bargaining agreement would implore them to stand behind a member, regardless of his politics, in a situation like this. Not doing so jeopardizes their very effectiveness and reason for members to pay dues. The union's lack of action speaks volumes.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:40 pm The man should NOT have been fired.
Reprimanded? Perhaps that would be appropriate, depending on the full details of what took place.
You actually think the MEA would have a Trump supporter's back? I do not at all find that to be a safe assumption! The union is not backing this guy. If he was fired over those tweets, they would have insta-filed a grievance.
The district has taken the very unusual step of actually issuing an official statement stating specifically that he was not fired for the tweet. If that weren't true, the former teacher would be suing.
The truth is out there ... but we don't know what it is.

I've searched high and low and cannot find this statement. Can someone provide a link?
