Re: Weekend Radio Shows
Among Detroit area weekend shows that I listen to are:
1. Friday At The Hideout: Broadcasting for two hours on CJAM-FM (99.1) at 8pm Friday nights, host Willy Wilson plays an assortment of rock music and music that influenced various rock musicians. The industry term for his playlists might best be described as "very deep album cuts."
2. 10pm Friday nights will have another two hour program: The Don Was Motor City Playlist on WDET-FM. I'll let WDET''s website describe the show.
3. "Breakfast with the Beatles" (10am to noon) on Sundays will provide fans of the fab four with much music and information via CKWW-AM (580).
4. Later on Sunday CKWW-AM plays "Casey Kasem's American Top 40 - The Seventies" with repeats of the late Mr. Kasem's show at roughly the same time of year as re-broadcast.
5. "Sunday Swing Set with Linda Yohn" on WRCJ-FM (90.9) will bring the weekend to a swinging conclusion.
6. Listening to Ron Cameron's show is admittedly an acquired taste. Somewhat like listening to a broadcasting train wreck, but nonetheless fascinating when heard in context.

Don't know if this would apply to Detroit or not, but I'm kind of partial to Eddies Caravan. Doo-Wop and Soul hits of the 50's and 60's on AM 1600 WAAM out of Ann Arbor. Saturday nights from I Believe 6-8 PM.
Re: Weekend Radio Shows
That show is part of a great 12-hour stretch of special interest music on WAAM on Saturday nights. Eddie's show is a lot of fun for both the music and his hip commentary. I've also listened a lot to the London Calling show that runs from 10-12.originalzzmfmjock wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:50 pm Don't know if this would apply to Detroit or not, but I'm kind of partial to Eddies Caravan. New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I agree with the suggestion for WDET from 11 to 1 pm on Saturday.
WAHS has a few good shows
Music 4 the masses
Let Them Eat Vinyl
60 Minutes of Eccentric Music
89 Rewind

Acoustic Cafe weekends on WDET. I generally catch the podcast, so I'm not sure of when 101.9 airs the program. I also stream Deep Cuts in the Wolf Den on San Francisco 70's Hits radio Saturday at midnight. www.sf70s.com, If you click the 3 bars on the top right of the home page you can access the latest shows

CBC Radio 89.9 - everything on weekends and weekdays. Outstanding programming.
WDET 101.9 Progressive Underground Chris Campbell - that show is a whole vibe. Best show on radio. Plays everything. (Sunday's 8-10 pm)
WDET 101.9 Soul Saturdays Nick Austin - best soul music show in Detroit. (Saturdays 8-10 pm)
WMXD 92.3 Old School House Party Gerald McBride - dusts off the hits and oldies. (Saturdays 7 pm - 12midnight)
