Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks Dan. Ron of course assuming the worst..... thinking Phil is dead or caught "the Covid". Ron hoping that perhaps he could claim to be the last one to talk to Phil before he dropped dead.
It never would cross Ron's mind that Phil has blocked his number.

Producer: Google "Phil Regan avoiding Ron Cameron."
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron, who regularly yawns, etc., on the air, called out his beleaguered producer for having the nerve to sneeze with his mic on. Of course.

Cowboy, our birthday chronicler, was off a year yesterday in the case of Dick Van Dyke. He turned 96, not 95, today.

Re: Ron Cameron
I got a kick out of the story Ron told about carrying the cup off the ice after some kind of hockey championship. I tried to imagine the thrill it must have given a young Ron, whose whole life revolved around sports, and who had been kicking around from one dead end job to another. Both poignant and pathetic at the same time.Momo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 7:13 pmBy turning the discussion back to him, as he's doing now.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 7:08 pmNot sure how he is going to have a hours worth of questions for Holland

Re: Ron Cameron
Back in the late 1980s, I had a lot of entertaining conversations with a co-worker about two individuals who lived in a satirical world that sometimes crossed over into the truly bizarre—Ron Cameron and Zippy the Pinhead (who was appearing in the Detroit News at the time).
For those unfamiliar with Zippy, here's a recent cartoon. This one reminds me of Ron's decision-making process about restaurants, radio stations, what to say in the next five seconds...

Ron didn’t open his flip phone and flip the switch on Sunday’s podcast yet this week.

If I remember right Denny McLain is this weeks guest.
Based on the last time he was on, as he was at a autograph session we get to hear how much he dislikes the Tigers these days

Yes, & the Pistons are also playing Sunday night, so we can look forward again to Ron’s breathless play-by-play announcing & reading the stats of yet another game (& writing the history of Cade Cunningham's career less than two months into his rookie season). No need for him to engage in any pre-show prep when he’s got a game to call. I think I may even prefer his “Match” game questions. I wonder if he still has access to BuzzR TV in his new, sumptuous digs.

That’s right I am sure we will get a update on maids who don’t throw away phone numbers.Momo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 8:32 amYes, & the Pistons are also playing Sunday night, so we can look forward again to Ron’s breathless play-by-play announcing & reading the stats of yet another game (& writing the history of Cade Cunningham's career less than two months into his rookie season). Yea Match game trivia, feels like so long ago from the “wpon” era of trivia.
I am sure though if Denny starts talking rough about the illitch family, Ron will stop him in his tracks. Now if the conversation changes to Jimmy Carson, who knows!
Re: Ron Cameron
I have been able to catch up on this riveting broadcast since the podcast was posted yesterday. I did enjoy hearing Ron stumble through that “ad” for the hotel he is currently staying at. He didn’t know the crucial address/crossroads it is at. Stumbling and bumbling where a good google would serve him.ShempLives wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 6:14 pmHappy to report that the podcasts from Ron's broadcast of December 12, 2021 are now available via the WDTK website.

Re: Ron Cameron
Possible Christmas edition of Sportstalk! Not sure if Ron will look at this show or next weeks show or if he knows it’s Christmas
Anyways, With snow on the ground we will call this a winter edition. So fire up your fireplace, grab your favorite beverage and enjoy your Sunday night with the insight of Ron C and Sportstalk
If those of us that are die hard listeners any ideas on what we should be called as a group
I am sure there will be hard hitting questions tonight with Denny McLain live from whatever autograph session he is at

With Denny, it's always interesting to find out his current definition of an hour—30 minutes, 40 minutes?radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 8:44 amI am sure there will be hard hitting questions tonight with Denny McLain live from whatever autograph session he is at
