Hope it happens.
They could have 6P and 11P newscasts with something the other stations don't offer....News.
The first ten minutes of the newscast would likely be in the same verve of 2, 4, and 7, but, after the first station break, they could go to more news, less stories on what is vaguely termed as "Lifestyle" coverage.
The more "matter of fact" news, possibly with a broader, more international scope, could work well with the 6:30p transition to a more "hard news" style that the Tiffany Network has been doing all along.

Maybe they could use the slogan “straight to the point!”innate-in-you wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 3:44 pm Hope it happens.

Uh, a bit of an update for ya..Variety reports that later this year, CBS will be phasing out the CBSN name and will give it the same identity its other products have, CBS NEWS!

Is Emery King too old to be a lead anchor at this point?
Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
CBS62 news would be in last place in Detroit it would take years for them to compete with WXYZ, WJBK, WDIV since all are legacy TV stations. Why didn't CBS ever try and get an O&O in Detroit until 1994 after they lost WJBK when Fox got the NFL rights?
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.

I think so. Frank Turner is an obvious choice since he just left/got fired from WNEM. Also what about Kim Adams?MrTaterSalad wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 11:12 pm Is Emery King too old to be a lead anchor at this point?

I've seen Stacy Duford doing the weather a couple of times so she is on the payroll in some capacity. not sure what her role would be though
there are plenty of displaced news people on the bench if they wanted to spend the money on good team to get it going.
after the departure of Stephen Clark I cannot believe Dave Lewellen is the best 7 can come up with

Again, I hope they focus more on hard news and investigative journalism like CBS This Morning used to do. I'd love to see an equivalent of a VICE News at the local level, but that is simply a pipe dream. Just going off of local or formally local talent that is still available, I think they could build a solid lineup. I'd like to see Christy McDonald, Frank Turner, and Scott Lewis all be apart of the newscast in some capacity.

Might have some news very shortly on this. Possible February launch. Hold tight everyone. They are definitely looking for reporters and potential anchors. Waiting for more confirmation!!!

Also, Fox 2 imo, might having some issues. The station has really gone down hill over the past few years.

When they bring back news, is it going to be just evening (6 and 11 pm), or will they also have morning news as well? They could do both.

I believe they might start out with just 6 and 11. Some additional proof: 62 cut out one of the Family Feud airings at noon (to make room for 25 Words or Less, displaced from 9 AM by Dr. Oz, itself displaced from 3 PM by Nick Cannon), so they likely are proceeding further with this news plan.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 9:06 am When they bring back news, is it going to be just evening (6 and 11 pm), or will they also have morning news as well? My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)
