Whatever Happened to….
Whatever Happened to….
Through the years, Detroit has seen many personalities both from radio and television just disappear from the airwaves. So, as I was thinking why not post this topic and we can ask the question, whatever happened to the people we remembered from our favorite stations of the past and possibly some of you on the Buzzboard may have answers. So, I have a few to get this started. The first is Gene Maxwell from WNIC also from WNIC Dick Shaffrin ( forgive me if I misspelled his last name) and one more Brian Steible ( again sorry for the misspelling) who did overnights at WJR in the 90’s hopefully some of you know what happened to these former Detroit personalities.

Re: Whatever Happened to….
Lisa Orlando aka Lisa Lisa is at WDVD doing weekends. Not sure about Linda Lanci, I thought she was at 107 one in Ann Arbor a while back. I did see something about her still in Ann Arbor possibly at WLBY 1290 doing mornings.

Re: Whatever Happened to….
I’m wondering whatever happened to Rosetta Hines. Rosetta was at WJZZ 105.9 up until around the early 90’s when WJZZ became an R&B station to complete with WJLB. I believe 105.9 changed format and call letters to WCHB around 1996.
Re: Whatever Happened to….
Lucy Ann Lance is the only local show on 1290, and it's brokered. 8-11AM if memory serves.

Sad to hear of Rosetta’s passing. She was an incredible talent.IIN4MU wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 9:23 am Margie Reedy is retired from TV and living in California

Re: Whatever Happened to….
Back around 1979 there was a young lady named Francis Tinsley at WLBS 102.7 when it was an R&B/ Disco station (a clone of NewYork’s WBLS owned by Inner City Broadcasting.) and during that same time there was also a guy named Kim Travis also at WLBS, and one more from WLBS James Brian Siciliano, any idea as to whatever happened to them?

I thought she was doing midday. When was she demoted to weekends ?Deleted User 16144 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:10 amLisa Orlando aka Lisa Lisa is at WDVD doing weekends.
Music is my life.
Re: Whatever Happened to….
Kim Travis left Detroit and became PD at WFXZ in Bay City in the mid-80's. Late 80's he went to work for Drake-Chenault and later worked as a record promoter. Later he moved into radio sales in the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Lansing areas. He still lives in west Michigan.Deleted User 16144 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:11 am Back around 1979 there was a young lady named Francis Tinsley at WLBS 102.7 when it was an R&B/ Disco station (a clone of NewYork’s WBLS owned by Inner City Broadcasting.) and during that same time there was also a guy named Kim Travis also at WLBS, and one more from WLBS James Brian Siciliano, any idea as to whatever happened to them?
Frontier Airlines SUCKS! They're a bunch of thieves. Don't fly with them!
Re: Whatever Happened to….
WLBS has quite an alumni group
Francis Tinsley returned to NYC and did air shifts until her VO career took off.
Matt Haloran continues to live in San Diego. Hobbys include getting hired and fired from radio stations...

Gerald McBride continues to be Detroit based lately at Mix 92.3.
