Christmas Day Automation Collapse At 97.1 The Ticket
I have been listening since about 2pm and the sports talk show suddenly got locked in repeating a sentence. This went on about 20 minutes. They went to a break and ran several commercials then went to a "Sunday" show which shortly locked in the same repeating sentence problem. Someone resets it then its OK for a while then the problem repeats itself. Well its 2:51 and I'm hearing another program that just now is starting to repeat sentences. Holy Cow!!!!!!!! What a Meltdown !!!!!!!

This is usually caused by an audio file sent by FTP but not finished, but with all the IP audio in use today, the playback device could be losing its connection.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

In the 3 o'clock hour everything seems to be running OK for now.audiophile wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 3:02 pmThis is usually caused by an audio file sent by FTP but not finished, but with all the IP audio in use today, the playback device could be losing its connection.

Why did you listen to the same sentence for 20 minutes?SixPlusOne wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 2:53 pmI have been listening since about 2pm and the sports talk show suddenly got locked in repeating a sentence. This went on about 20 minutes.

I think when it started, he changed the station, then changed back, hoping the problem would resolve itself (which didn't).windsorjoe wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 10:00 pmWhy did you listen to the same sentence for 20 minutes?SixPlusOne wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 2:53 pmI have been listening since about 2pm and the sports talk show suddenly got locked in repeating a sentence. Re: Christmas Day Automation Collapse At 97.1 The Ticket
At first I couldn't believe that this was actually happening mainly because of the duration. Then I figured being Christmas day there might be absolutely no one at the station. I was doing other things on-line and listening and got curious as to when and how staff from wherever would resolve the problem.
These sports shows seem to be popular when you take into account that Detroit is a big sports town and they seem to have a significant amount of callers into all their programs. It was because of this that I was surprised that they would take a chance on this much automation. I wonder who on staff lives the closest that can drive in and correct a problem like this.

They/them, non-binary and proud.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.
