What happened to the local news reports. WJR is only broadcasting Fox Radio News at the top and bottom of each hour. Any idea?

The only remaining news anchors at WJR are Marie Osborne and Ken Rogulski. Cumulus has too much debt to handle the overhead. That's why you hear so many infomercials by witch doctors, start-up nation geeks, financial gurus, and plain 'ol snake oil hucksters...many of them in what was once considered prime time. The station basically needs to be reinvented from top to bottom.

Not sure. It's a weekend show. Richard Sloan also does a segment weekdays at 7:11AM with Paul W. The promos for that run ad nauseam. I can't stand that nerdy, constipated voice. I'll be damned if I can figure out what the hell these guys are selling.

I continue to hear Marie, Ken, and Lloyd Jackson as senior news analysts only. If they are employed by WJR why are they not doing local news. I would much rather hear that and leave commentary to the talk show hosts.

I agree. His ratings have been horrific for years. The station must feel he's good for P.R. purposes, I guess.

Many years ago, I remember Dominski & Doyle were top 5 in Adults 25-54 in 97.1 during its FM Talk days, and Albom was in 19th place.

At least some of the "bits" on Albom's show are funny. Kevin O'neill is a nice addition to the show. It'll be interesting to see the ratings for Kevin Dietz, and Guy Gordon the next time around. Both would be perfect for drivetime in Lansing or Kalamazoo.

As to the news Analysts, I still don't get it. Does Mike Wheeler come up with this stuff on his own? Consultant Walt Sabo was well known for shenanigans like this. Change, for the sake of change.
