All California schools to require masks this fall

Unread post by bmw »

Good grief.

Ok, so some numbers first.

These stats for California straight from the CDC.

In people under the age of 18, 486,575 have reportedly had Covid. Of those, 28 have died.

https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DC ... Group.aspx

That's a mortality rate of 1 in 17,300. Basically, negligable.

Then you compound that with the fact that daily cases are way down, on the order of 93% lower compared to peak this past winter, and Covid probably isn't even in the top 20 causes of death for people in the 0-17 age group.

And if the teachers are worried about Covid, they can get vaccinated. Vaccines are readily available.

Even the CDC recommends vaccinated people need not wear masks in the classroom. So much for following the science - https://www.foxnews.com/health/californ ... c-guidance

Maybe it's an initiative to keep the ugly kids from getting picked on.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
