This will be Trump*'s "Black Swan" event. I still maintain, as I did some months ago, he'll use it to postpone or suspend the fall elections if the outbreak is widespread AND he's well behind in polling for re-election.

Shut down or postpone voting in a few precincts... you get the idea. Easy to sell. "USA Today reports DHS recommends voting be postponed in selected cites in Florida out of an abundance of caution over the Coronavirus". You think most American's are going to give a rat's ass about that after they've seen their 401-k's crapping the bed like it has the past couple of days?
You were quite prophetic. Just one problem. It wasn't Trump who moved to delay elections because of the Coronavirus; it was actually the governor of Louisiana - a Democrat.
Gov. John Bel Edwards said he planned to sign an executive order delaying the April 4 election until June 20, which would make Louisiana the first state to push back its election because of the virus.
I'm asking you about it now. A politician delayed an election due to Coronavirus. And just as you pointed out, Americans wouldn't (don't) care due to having other problems. Granted, it isn't a Presidential election, and I'm not contending that the decision was for any ulterior motives. But that's not the point. My point is that the precedent has been set. You have no opinion on this precedent at this time? EVEN IF Trump were to delay the Presidential election (which he won't), but EVEN IF, he can simply point to the precedent set by a Democrat. You have no opinion on that?
It has been said that this is not a good plan either...
It is if you want a precedent set in place to quickly lock down counties to prevent folks from getting out to vote in November. It only takes a few surgical strikes to swing an election.
