That may be why so many sites are drive thru only...

Maybe? Why get tested unless you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone that has tested positive? I'm seriously not sure why this is a relevant question. Maybe hypochondriacs are at risk, but I don't see this as a major issue.

We had an issue arise today, many people who live in downtown Traverse City don't own cars. The hospital had to pivot on that one.

Many of the listed symptoms mimic some flu and cold viruses and even seasonal allergies appearing now. Every day, a new ambiguous symptom seems to arise. It doesn't take a hypochondriac to be concerned that they are infected.

Most of the actual testing has shown that only around 10% test positive. If you were standing in a line of folks, you have a 20% chance of being next to someone who actually has it, so there's a good chance those who actually have it would spread it to those who don't currently have it (even though they have similar symptoms). HOWEVER, those folks who test negative at that test probably should get tested again in 5 days, because they could have likely contracted it while they were standing in line.

The drive-thru pretty much eliminates that though.

Where should they get tested a second time? Standing in line again, waiting to get infected again?

This is why so many testing sites are drive through with people in full PPE administering them.

That's the point...it is pretty much useless for them to stand in a line likely getting infected, only to get their results back thinking they are negative when in reality they are spreading it to everyone they come in contact with.

Have you actually seen a testing site where everyone stands in a line?

Have you actually seen a testing site where everyone stands in a line?
Have you seen any of the multitude of lines and crowds where they have been "temperature testing" folks?? An easy one would be when they were checking those flights coming back from Europe.

Very true. However recent testing sites seem to be focused on the drive thru model which you will hopefully concede eliminates this problem.

100% agree. Hopefully they'll also soon begin to use the 'self-swap' technique which further minimizes the hospital staff's exposure.

Also see they have approved a test that can confirm a positive in 5 min and a negative in 15 min. That would be a h u g e game changer as you could test at the beginning of the line and get your results likely before you even get home.
