Obama's SCOUTS Pick - Announced Wednesday

Post by TC Talks » Wed Mar 16, 2016 7:47 am

The president, in a move that could shape the nation’s highest court for a generation, will present his nominee during a Rose Garden ceremony at the White House, officials said. It is expected to kick off a monthslong political stalemate and become a searing issue on the campaign trail.

Merrick Garland... Not exactly a left wing nutjob... Shoving a moderate down the GOP's throat... Smart move.

My guess they will sit on until November, then vote him in, especially if Hillary wins.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

No sympathy should be shown to the individual- he knew the circumstances he was getting himself into.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

In terms of strategy, Obama really screwed up on this one. Garland should have been his second nominee. His first nominee should have been someone so liberal and so socially progressive, that the Senate would have scheduled an immediate hearing so they could rip her guts out.

Then, after the first nominee had been rejected, he could have submitted Garland's name. At that point it would be to late for the Senate to go back to its original position of refusing to even consider a nominee.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

It would have looked like Obama had backed off what he really wanted too...
