It looks like the sergeant of arms in both Chambers were conspiring.

This is some serious s*** when people charged with keeping our most sacred institution safe conspire with an idiot like Donald Trump. Time to go through and clean out all the traitors.
Two days before Congress was set to formalize President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund was growing increasingly worried about the size of the pro-Trump crowds expected to stream into Washington in protest.

To be on the safe side, Sund asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup.

But, Sund said Sunday, they turned him down.

In his first interview since pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, Sund, who has since resigned his post, said his supervisors were reluctant to take formal steps to put the Guard on call even as police intelligence suggested that the crowd President Trump had invited to Washington to protest his defeat probably would be much larger than earlier demonstrations.

The Pentagon placed tight limits on the D.C. National Guard ahead of pro-Trump protests this week, trying to ensure the use of military force remained constrained, as the Guard carried out a narrow, unarmed mission requested by the city’s mayor to help handle traffic ahead of planned protests.

In memos issued Monday and Tuesday in response to a request from the D.C. mayor, the Pentagon prohibited the District’s guardsmen from receiving ammunition or riot gear, interacting with protesters unless necessary for self-defense, sharing equipment with local law enforcement, or using Guard surveillance and air assets without the defense secretary’s explicit sign-off, according to officials familiar with the orders. The limits were established because the Guard hadn’t been asked to assist with crowd or riot control.

The D.C. Guard was also told it would be allowed to deploy a quick-reaction force only as a measure of last resort, the officials said.
It seems to me "the Pentagon" was respecting the request of the democratic (black female) mayor.
They have never done this before now. Again, lots written about this.
"To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD if such plans are underway,
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

And this is why the sergeant of arms in both Chambers were immediately fired.

Here is the final paragraph in this social justice site's article (https://www.revolt.tv/news/2021/1/10/22 ... er-suicide)
The FBI believes that the Capitol storming was an inside job, and is now looking for information to prosecute those involved. A number of rioters have already been arrested and federally charged.

I can tell you that my friend in the guard is fully ready to be busy for the next 2 weeks.

Thanks to Betsy Devos's PAC, the state capitol is going to have a clown show again.

I read somewhere she's left the country.

Pelosi should be impeached.
Trump should be begging to be removed so he can get a pardon. This would do that.

Why does she need to be impeached?

Trump could resign and get a pardon too. That's what I was talking about with a negotiated exit.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

Resigning isn’t his style. Especially with a potential 2024 tease in his pocket. He won’t run but he’ll do the pins and needles routine at us for a while.

Now we can do the false equivalency thing... I love the smell of desperation in the morning...

I remember when conservatives worried about TV content and such... whatever happened to that conservative movement trying to remake society in its image?

And yet she and her posse didn't call for an Insurrection. What part of this are you missing?

Nobody cares what Trump said right up to the point where he and his "advisers" suggested “Let’s have trial by combat”

Then there is the blocking of an adequate defense of the Capitol on Jan 6.
