I read his statement and while he isn't retiring he also isn't running away from a so called red tsunami as Matt and BMW hint. The fact is a red Congress can subpoena him to ask tough questions whether he works for the government, works in the private sector or doesn't work at all.

Understood. For the record, it has always been hyperbole as I oppose the death penalty. My issue with Fauci is the unwarranted hero worship - I think today's WSJ editorial was on point. I am going to edit my posts in this thread as a show of good faith.
