Along those lines... could someone bring tailed call 911 and get a cop to confront them at gunpoint while continuing to drive and on the phone with the dispatcher?Vic Doucette wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 5:50 pmAnother friend is curious how Coleman Young would handle this.
You mean have a cop step up against another law enforcement officer who is fucking up? The Seven Mile and Evergreen area has long been a drug gang enclave. Competing factions have been at odds for years. I believe there was a gang related shooting with several victims not a week ago.Vic Doucette wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 8:31 pmMetro Times says it's the DEA. Update at bottom of story.

You also, conveniently, forgot to notice your paychecks were larger throughout the year. Calculate your effective tax rate for the last three years and report back. The only way its not less is if your filing status change impacted what you owed.

Call me next time that happens and I'll scrub off all the ACAB graffiti in the neighborhood.
The "Feds" have been here for years. How many times have you watched police chases or when police are tracking down a fugitive and see all the DHS, DEA, Border Protection, Border Patrol, and Marshalls in their cars and uniforms working together with DPD and State Police to resolve the situation??? Seems to happen ALL the time.Rate This wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:54 pmThe question of the day is: Does he want the feds coming here escalating a generally peaceful protest situation. They’ve worked awfully hard to keep it that way after all.audiophile wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 7:39 pmStraight from Detroit Police Chief...
Craig also reiterated his concerns Monday that there has been an increase in violent crime in Detroit, most likely a result of the pandemic and stay-at-home order that has stressed people out and recent protests.
Still, Craig said that the ongoing police brutality protests — most of which have been peaceful — have sapped the department of officers to patrol neighborhoods. On top of that, there also are now protests against summer school.
Craig said other major cities also are experiencing an uptick in violence, and, in his view, it is driven in part by the pandemic, the early release of criminals — and criminals who now feel especially emboldened to break the law.

But he and Duggan issued a joint statement. “If you intend to send the same people as you have in Portland then don’t bother. We got this.”km1125 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 3:01 pmThe "Feds" have been here for years. Chief Craig has a better handle on the situation here than many other cities like Portland or Chicago and I think he would marshall the forces to protect federal property just as he would to protect city or state property, unlike those other jurisdictions.
IIRC, that's exactly what TRUMP was asking for, so everybody gets what they want/need. To bad other cities can't play ball.Rate This wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 3:58 pmBut he and Duggan issued a joint statement. “If you intend to send the same people as you have in Portland then don’t bother. Right... the folks that have been here working are one thing. The folks sent to Portland are not welcome however. Talking about them. Specifically. Them.km1125 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 8:36 pmIIRC, that's exactly what TRUMP was asking for, so everybody gets what they want/need.
