If he had simply turned over the classified documents at Mari Lago he wouldn't be going to trial for that situation.
I've said that's the one out of the 4 cases against him that may have some merit. That said, I strongly disagree with how that situation was handled by the government.

You should trust a former President when it comes to stuff like classified documents. But when you lie to federal agents you are going to be charged with crimes.

Did Trump actually deny ever having sex with her, or was his denial about having an affair with her? There is a difference, but it might amount to what the definition of "is" is.

But I agree with bmw that, either way, it's not really relevant to this case.

It's called picking your battles.

I have no idea if Trump did what Stormy claims, but I do know it doesn't belong in a court room, especially over something so petty as a misdemeanor book-keeping allegation.
Unfortunately the sex led to the crime trying to funnel the payment through the campaign. You kind of have to tell the entire story in building your case. If he didn’t want the details out there he shouldn’t have done it. He’s an adult who makes horrible decisions left and right and NOBODY held a gun to his head and told her to bang a porn star and then cover it up through his campaign which is illegal. It’s his own damn fault as usual.

If you read Turkey's post above, it doesn't matter what Trump has said, unless it's under oath at this trial, it doesn't matter.

Still irrelevant.

There was an NDA. That's not disputed.
Cohen paid Stormy $130k. That's not disputed.
Trump has been paying Cohen back. That's not disputed.

The only thing that matters, IMO, is the circumstances that led to Cohen paying Stormy. For me to even consider convicting, I would want to see evidence which proves, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Trump directed Cohen to make the payment (instead of himself making the payment directly) and did so with the intention of later keeping it in the books as a legal expense.

There is an audio tape apparently showing just what you are seeking. The New York Times has a copy and isn’t publishing it. You can throw “media in the bag for Biden” out the window.

I do recall Cohen admitting he recorded conversations to protect himself from Trump.

And what does an NDA have to do with a criminal trial?

What I find interesting is the judge telling the defense team they did a lousy job of not objecting during her testimony. From what I read he objected a few times from the bench but to me it seems Trump's lawyers failed at their job. The weight of her testimony on the jury has yet to be seen. I still wonder if Trump will take the stand bit is almost always a bad idea for the accused to do so but I doubt he will be able to keep from having the spotlight on him. His time on the stand will be a train wreck while entertaining at the same time no hope for his sake he will be able to be talked out of it.

I still wonder if he is being medicated. How does that hot head fall asleep during his trial.

It must be driving him crazy that he can't control the storyline.

That’s a real thing. I won a mock trial in high school that way… I just kept asking questions they should have shouted objections to and got no blowback so I kept going. The teacher (who had been a lawyer) scolded them afterwords and praised my strategy.

If they weren’t objecting and then came out and whined later that’s sloppy.

This should put an end to the claim that Trump only hires the best people.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.
