Adrian Peterson is completely washed up. If you need a guy to power through a pile of defenders for maybe a yard to at most a yard and a half, he's capable. Otherwise, he's useless. The speed is gone. The field perception is gone.

If we're talking strictly on-the-field performance, your list is a very sound one. Lack of talent on defense is #1 and pitiful running game #2 for me, too. That said, these issues are magnified by a poorly equipped coaching staff, and the combination of a poorly equipped coaching staff + an untalented roster is the direct result of Bob Quinn's incompetence!

I want Quinn outta here every bit as badly as Matt Patricia. Quinn's drafts have been mediocre, his free agency & trade moves have been atrocious, and he should have fired Patricia after last season.

I think Stafford loves the game too much to retire; he's still young in modern QB terms. It seems every new rule in recent years was initiated to spare the QB of aches and pains. (sigh )

As far as trading him, what do you think he could bring? The cap hit would also be sizable. I say he stays, at least for the remainder of his contract.
