NEW Monkees reunited

Unread post by matt1 »

After a 31 year absence, The NEW Monkees (from late 1987) decided to reunite (all 4 members) & gave a performance somewhere in California Saturday night. Micky Dolenz was the opening act. I still have that Warner Bros. CD which runs 41:20 in length. They showed it on channel 20 in Detroit back then. After 13 episodes & an album & 45 single "What I Want" which did NOT chart in Billboard, The NEW Monkees call it quits in January of 1988.

Their movie Head toured the country too. I saw it in Royal Oak.

Member Marty Ross did a remake of Tom Cochrane & Red Rider 1986 Canadian song "Boy Inside The Man" (which was a minor hit in the U.S.) & also on their self - titled Warner Bros. 1987 album. Here is the story from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Monkees
