Lady by Kenny Rogers is so amazing! Do you consider Juice Newton country? Ever on Top 40?

There’s tons of Crossover tunes so we could be here for a while, I have a lot of this stuff on CD, I had a chance to do a Country Format in Seattle for a few weeks as a fill in Jock it was pretty cool. And yes Juice Newton is country and has crossed over to pop as well.

Re: Country Songs That Crossed Over To Top 40 Radio
Is that the one that was a C&W/T40/AC/R&B crossover?
Sadly, crossover hits used to be common. They became far less common during the Disco era.
There were a few after Disco subsided in popularity, but were still somewhat rare.
The last one I can recall hearing was Ronnie Milsap's Prisoner of the highway being played on Hot Hits 96.3 WHYT in the middle eighties.
What's amazing to me is thinking that All I want to do is Dream by the Everly Brothers being multi-crossover, including #1 R&B!
Re: Country Songs That Crossed Over To Top 40 Radio
No. There was no MOR/AC Chart until 1961. And other than being played on some R & B stations to widen their appeal, it did not make the Billboard R & B Chart.
