Detroit Area and Michigan Rock Bands 60’s and 70’s

I’m a big fan of Rock Music from ‘68-‘73 Because they were my High School years ,and I remembered listening to a lot of Detroit Rock on WKNR-FM 100.3 in the late 60’s and hearing bands like The Rationals,Bob Seger System,MC 5 and Teagarden and Van Winkle do you remember what came out of Detroit and for that matter Michigan as well ,also name the songs that you dug by these groups. But by far The Rationals “Respect “was my all time fav 2nd fav by the same group was “I Need You “definitely killer tunes. Now I know those 2 songs were before ‘68 I want to say more like ‘66or’67 but KNR-FM played them a lot.

Forgot to mention Dick Wagner's guitar solo on the late Lou Reed "Sweet Jane" (from 1974 "Rock And Roll Animal")

Here’s another great Detroit Area band The Tidal Waves from Roseville, their biggest tune was” Farmer John “played quite a bit on the Great Keener 13.And we can’t forget the dudes who sang “Who Do You Love?” Lansing’s very own The Woolies played on WKNR-FM 100.3 quite a bit in those days.

Bro... Jim McCarty still plays all over town. Too old to continue touring with CACTUS but still able to make the trip from Sterling Heights to a local venue.
