New Backpack
New Backpack
Bought a new backpack today. From the label on the outside I inferred it had been made in USA. Only after I got it home and opened up the zipper did I learn the truth. Probably came from a sweat shop.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Okay, you paid $49.99 (or should have), could have gotten another 40% off for a total of $29.99, and you are asking us to join in your surprise that it was not made in the USA with workers with a couple of kids being paid a living wage of, according to here: https://livingwage.mit.edu/counties/26163 $38.92 in Wayne County, MI?
With the 'VDAY' 40% off special, this bag could have been had for 5 mornings of a breakfast bagel and a coke at McDonalds. You expected it to be produced in a nice factory in the US with contented workers living comfortable suburban lives, financially preparing for a retirement in Niceville, FL drinking a different beer every afternoon?
Did you ever even run a lemonade stand? Do you have ANY idea of what it costs to make something?
Either you are as completely detached from reality as you sometimes ask us to believe, or this is just more clickbait to support the "poor worker" angle.

The box that many broadcasters won’t look outside of was made in 1969 and hasn’t changed significantly since.

Re: New Backpack
38.92? What exactly do you get for a living wage of $80,953? You can live on much less, have a house and money to spare if you don’t have endless debt.Plate Cap wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 7:19 amhttps://inusa.com/collections/backpacks ... p-backpack

Re: New Backpack
You are preaching to the choir, sir, and I agree wholeheartedly. However, I anticipated the sniveling about low pay so I included the web site with the number.

Well, I might be getting a little more than that, but it's Canadian dollars. So it looks like we're barely subsisting here. That's why I had to shop around for a bargain backpack. We're only trailer trash here.

Re: New Backpack
That's a fanny pack, and it doesn't stand a chance of being distributed outside that crappy website.audiophile wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:17 amIt should be able to Made in USA for $49.99!
