The last Howard Johnson's restaurant closes in New York state!! Back then when I was with my parents during a trip to Greensburg, Pennsylvania to visit my late aunts & relatives, we stopped at the Ohio Turnpike Service Plaza in the mid 70's & I had a can of Ho Jo Cola which tastes almost like Pepsi!! I also had their root beer, ginger ale & orange drink in cans!! https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddrink/ ... uxbndlbing

The family partook of the Wednesday all-you-can-eat fish fry every week at the HoJo on Woodward in Highland Park. I also liked their fried clams. This was in the '60s.

I think they brought in chef Jacques Pépin to create that delicious batter.

Now I'm hungry! :8)

We stayed at Hojo’s when we visited Lansing on our 4th grade state Capitol trip in the mid 90s. Nothing to write home about.

Shockingly...you don't relish in the enjoyment of eating clams.

Do you like yours "bearded?"

Probably a good thing all of them closed. In 2022 it wouldn't take long for some progressive group to claim that its' offensive to women named Jo being called a Ho and start a boycott.

We would go to the Maple and Telegraph location. Orange Sherbet with a wood tab to eat it with was a highlight.

Now it's a cellphone/mattress store.

We still have a HoJo motel in Traverse City.
