New GM logo

Not sure I'm all-in on this one.

Looks more like a smartphone app icon that changes often than sign of strength and a ... well, whatever GM is trying to become.

Oof. This one was developed by a committee for sure.

Just wondering.... Is this related to the BK move in some way?

Do you know that for sure, or is that just conjecture? It seems possible.

If you read far enough into the article they quote a GM spokesman spinning it that way.

GM is iconic. There was no need to change logos.

Having worked there and knowing a little of the mindset, I wouldn't put it past them to design the logo like an electric charging station. Every other day, there was a focus on the new electric technology and always open to new ideas of customers and employees. Mary Barra made it very clear that the company is transitioning to a slimmer portfolio with less sedans. Getting rid of the Volt, Cruze, Impala, LaCrosse, and Regal were a big deal.

I do not like the new logo, but you cannot say that GM isn't working hard to reinvent itself. Would have never thought Hummer would come back as an EV.

It's too reminiscent of the PBS and Facebook logos, but perhaps that's part of some macro-social design as well. The "plug" idea went right by me.

One of my vintage vehicles has this logo on it, I think it's the coolest one I've ever seen for general motors...

When I see the new logo I think pixie latte and general motors is more casual Friday. They really don't have a very high social collateral quotient.

I don't even like Ford, but their PR lately has been great. Some of the best ads I have seen from the big 3 in a long time.
