The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

HD Radio Sync

Unread post by WOHO »

Drove through Downriver Friday night playing around to see how long, if at all, I could hold HD lock on the FM's (as even WWJ couldn't stay locked, or SuperStation 910 either). Anyhow, Christmas music on WDZH, when it went from analog to HD1 you heard the same last 5 seconds again- real good sync there boys. Do they have an engineer that can adjust that, or don't they care?

LOL, that's bad engineering. The engineer either never listens nor has a HD radio. There is an time alignment adjustment in the transmitter or audio processor for that. Innovonics even makes a box to automatic sync the two, even though I have not tried it, because you can usually set it a fixed amount.
