Hey y’all:

After catching my usual daily podcasts on Spotify, I happened to look at one of the suggestions being made for me. The podcast is called Snacks and is produced by RobinHood Financial. Created and hosted by Nick Martell and Jack Kramer, the relatively new and fast paced podcast proclaims itself to be “digestible financial news” that’s followed by tens of thousands of people. In one of their more recent shows of the past two weeks, they went into what makes a successful podcast. Their five “secrets“ are applicable for whatever you do in your podcast, AND YOUR RADIO SHOW. An even more fascinating follow up Nick and Jack did was an interview with Max Cutler, one of the top executives at Spotify. Cutler gave a great shout out to radio but he also talked a lot about the future of podcasting, noting Spotify’s future is becoming more and more about podcasts than music. In my opinion, when done well, podcasts can be a great supplement (not a takeaway) to any station’s on-air presence.
